A magical trip to the forest nearby

Yesterday me and my lovely friend Sarafina aka. Skovlyste, went to the forest nearby to have a little photoshoot. I really need to practise my photo-skills and I love how my friends want to help.
The forest was so green and beautiful. We saw a lot of pretty things such as a deer and giant bumble bees! Unfortunatly I didn't get any pictures of them, since the deer ran away as soon as I took my camera up. But it was a pretty sight to see it there, relaxing in the grass. We decided to check out the deer's spot and it turned out to be a good spot for some of the photos. We also had a nice cup of tea on a tree stump (I think they're called that?). It was truly a magical time and I felt relaxed for the first time in weeks! Being in nature really can take all of my troubles away for a moment and I love that.

Now for the photos...

I think we managed to get some lovely photos out of it.
Where is your favorite place to be?

"To thine own self be true"

"To thine own self be true."
- W. Shakespeare

I thought I'd make a post about a huge change in my style.

Once I only wore black.
I didn't like colours at all and I thought I didn't know, how to use colours in both my style and in my artwork. But I guess it was more because I was "scared" of trying something new.
Now everything has changed. My wardrobe isn't as black as it once were. I wear a lot of light colours and I think it's so funny to work with, when creating new outfits. Actually I'm mostly going for either white or light colours, when I am thrifting.

I think one thing that really inspired me to change my wardrobe, and wear what I find beautiful, was to meet others who has the same taste as me... and even in the city I live in! I often felt very alone with my aesthetic, but then one day I met Skovlyste for a cup of tea. I think finding others like me, really has made me braver. It really helps to be more than one, when you want to start dressing differently. And now I feel brave enough, to wear what I want.

I still struggle with a lot, but I feel like I'm getting closer to who I am.
Anyway- I just wanted to share, that I have finally found out how important it is to do things that makes you happy, and not everyone else.

Everyday life

Last weekend my love and I went to an Iron age/viking fair nearby, in a Iron age village that lies in beautiful surroundings. I didn't buy anything, even though I saw lots of beautiful stuff. There were also a show with big birds such as an owl and a falcon and also a show with vikings that fought.

My love and I went down to the river and relaxed in the grass.

It was very hot and sunny.

We also sat in my love's parent's camp, with their two dogs.

I have made another Instagram-account for my creative projects, in hope of getting started on some more projects! Link to the instagram Lady Elflock Art here.
My friend Skovlyste and I are gonna sell some art-prints and stickers very soon on our Etsy-shop Lady Gigglemug, so stay tuned..!
We also went to a choir-concert in one of the many churches here in Odense. It was very beautiful, I really like the first song they sang. Hmm, perhaps I'm going to listen to it on youtube later... If I can find it.

Lately I have been listening a lot to Priscilla Hernandez and I really like it. I think I'm gonna buy one of her albums soon... I love collecting music and support small artists.

Inspiration in spring

Today is a rainy, cold and grey day. I am feeling inspired anyway though and I hope this evening will bring me some time for being creative. I have a hard time finishing my projects, so I hope to use the next couple of days/weeks to finish some of them. Spring is very inspiring, both because it's one of my two favorite seasons, but also because my wardrobe is changing from something warm and cosy, to something more light and flowy. Everything is so beautiful. The green colours, the pretty flowers in lots of different shapes and the long evenings where it gets darker very late.
Even though today is cold, I still feel the beauty from spring.

Now talking about projects- I really want to bake some more. Last month I made a banana bread, which was delicious. But I've tried that many times before and I would love to try something new. Perhaps some more cakes with lavender? I really like blueberry/lavender cupcakes... yummy!

What else inspires me? Well, I really love getting inspiration from the 1800's "lower class"-people, as weird as it may sound, which was why I decided to finally watch the movie 'Les misérables'. I enjoyed it very much. Do you know any movies with the same "lower class"-style? I really like characters such as Brona Croft from 'Penny Dreadful', Mrs Lovett from 'Sweeney Todd' and Gloriana from 'Salem'. All some lovely dressed women, tehe.

When it comes to my own style I hope to evolve my wardrobe. I am getting more and more beware of what style I want, but somethimes I get confused... I'll have to work on that confusion. I have been considering cutting my hair before summer, but truth is I want it to be longer than now. And I can always make some pretty hair up-dos, yay.

Earlier today I went to my cello-class. I really feel like I learn something from my teacher and I hope to soon show you more of my cello-practising. I'm currently trying to play whatever my teacher gives me as homework, but also the song 'Green finch and linnet bird' from Sweeney Todd. I really adore that song and I'm trying to learn it myself... which means no one to help, tehe.

What inspires you currently?

Photoshoot with my friend Skovlyste

Last friday me and my wonderful friend Sarafina, aka Skovlyste, held a photoshoot after we've watched a cellomatiné in the new concertplace here in Odense, where we live. I got really inspired by the beautiful cello-music on that grey, rainy day.
Anyway, we got home to my place and began to look at some inspiring photos from the edwardian era. I really love old photographs and so we decided to get inspired by the antique style.

Here's a few antique photos that I really like.
All found on Pinterest.

We took a lot of beautiful photos and I must say that I'm very satisfied with the results!

I enjoyed having Sarafina as a model and I hope we'll get the chance to hold another photoshoot soon!
Feel free to tell me in the comments, what you think of the photos I took.

Let's finish this post with a self portrait. I couldn't help myself but to take some self portraits in the same style, tehe.
